About Me – Sharron T MIDA
I am an Australian artist, designer and public speaker whose work now sits at the intersection of art, health, neuroaesthetics and dementia care. Over many years, my creative practice- Tailored Art Works! evolved into a broader intellectual and professional inquiry: how can art and environmental design contribute meaningfully to wellbeing, dignity and human experience, especially in health and aged-care settings?
That question has become the foundation of my speaking, research and thought leadership: ORCID. My work explores how visual beauty, salience, orientation and emotional meaning can be designed into spaces to support people living with cognitive, sensory and age-related challenges. I am particularly interested in the role of art-based environmental systems in dementia care, and in bringing together design practice, neuroscience and person-centred care in ways that are both rigorous and humane.

Sharron.Art is a platform for that next chapter. It presents my conference presentations, emerging academic voice and broader contribution to conversations in health, aged care and design innovation. It reflects a body of work that is evolving beyond studio practice into research, scholarship and public influence.
At its heart, my work is about creating environments that do more than function. I believe spaces can help people feel safer, calmer, more recognised and more connected — and that this deserves serious attention in both professional and academic settings.
